ALTO ADIGE SAUVIGNON BLANC ― FRANZ HAAS
Location: Montagna Sulla Strada Del Vino, Bolzano – Trentito Alto Adige
Classification: Alto Adige Sauvignon DOC
Grape varieties: Sauvignon
Even though globally widespread, Sauvignon Blanc is best grown in cool places. Franz Haas, a private medium-sized winery in northern Italy, cultivates Sauvignon Blanc grapes in a sloping vineyard in the Alps region between 1,300 and 2,600 ft above sea level. Despite its very pale color, the wine nose is complex with floral, fruity and herbal pronounced aromas. It is intense on the palate and really refreshing with a lingering citrusy finish. Sauvignon matches vegetable dishes, seafood and can be wonderfully paired with raw fish.
