CASTEL DEL MONTE ― PIETRABIANCA ― ANTINORI

Location: Minervino Murge, Barletta Andia Trani – Puglia
Classification: Chardonnay Castel del Monte DOC
Grape varieties:Chardonnay 90%, Fiano 10%

Pietrabianca is an amazing Chardonnay wine made in the very South of Italy: Apulia. It is a buttery and complex white wine, made in an amazing estate, extended over a plateau at 980 feet above sea level. Chardonnay can perfectly ripen under the Apulian sun. It is harvested early in the morning, fermented in steel vats at controlled temperature and partly matured in wooden barrels. Pietrabianca combines freshness, savoriness and smoothness in an unforgettable sip.

VALPOLICELLA VALPANTENA ― BERTANI

Location: Grezzana, Verona – Veneto
Classification: Valpolicella Valpantena DOC
Grape varieties: Corvina Veronese 80%, Rondinella 20%

Valpolicella Classico is the typical red wine of Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet. Produced near Lake Garda, it benefits from the mild climate of the region. It was also described by Ernest Hemingway as a “friendly … light, dry red wine” in his novel “The Snows of Kilimanjaro”. Certainly, it is a friendly wine thanks to its fruity flavor and smoothness; it is light as it refreshes your palate and is easy to drink. Bertani is a well-respected, authoritative producer in the Valpolicella region.

CUPINERO ― COL DI BACCHE

Location: Bolgheri, Livorno – Toscana
Classification: Toscana Rosso IGT
Grape varieties: Merlot 90%, Cabernet 10%

No other red wine is more celebrated than Merlot for combining complexity, intensity and elegance. People love Merlot for its voluptuous character. Cupinero is a prized wine, the most important made by the producer Col di Bacche in the south of Tuscany by the coastline. Very low yields assure concentrated grapes, which are fermented in steel vat with a prolonged skin contact to extract as much as possible. The wine is then aged for one year in new oak barrels. Its color is a deep ruby red, its smell includes ripe fruit, tobacco and a refreshing hint of basil. Tannins are perfectly integrated in a velvety texture, true signature of balance and softness.
