Description

CHIANTI CLASSICO ― PETRIGNANO ― DIEVOLE

Location: Vagliagli, Siena – Toscana
Classification: Chianti Classico DOCG
Grape varieties: Sangiovese

Chianti Classico Petrignano by the well-known producer Dievole, is a young Chianti Classico to be appreciated for its liveliness and smoothness, without sacrificing flavor intensity. In fact, the stony and limestonerich soil of the vineyards that produce this wine is the creator of a vibrant and savory taste. 100% Sangiovese grapes are harvested in September, fermented in concrete tanks and then aged in large wooden casks for 12 months. It is the most versatile version of Chianti Classico, to be drank on any occasion and paired with any food from pasta to pizza or meat.

CHIANTI CLASSICO GRAN SELEZIONE ― ARGENINA ― IL PALAZZINO

Location: Gaiole in Chianti, Siena – Toscana
Classification: Chianti Classico DOCG
Grape varieties: Sangiovese

Podere Il Palazzino is a small-sized producer, a family-owned winery, deeply rooted in the Chianti area of Monti. Chianti Classico Argenina is a “Gran Selezione” category, meaning it is a long-aged wine, made with carefully selected grapes from a single vineyard. The medium elevation of the hill and the mixed clay-limestone soil are responsible of the characterful, refined taste of this wine. It is fermented in steel vats and aged in small used barrels for 3 years. Not the strength of alcohol of power of tannins, but the harmonious balance of different elements makes it great. You can uncork it now or in the next 10 years with no regret. To be paired with a delicious dinner, with red meat or duck.

BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO ― QUERCE BETTINA

Location: Montepulciano, Siena – Toscana
Classification: Brunello di Montalcino DOCG
Grape varieties: Sangiovese Grosso

Brunello di Montalcino is the most sumptuous Sangiovese wine made in Tuscany, it is released 5 years after the harvest, when it turns into an age worthy and precious wine. Querce Bettina is a boutique winery, making wines from their 2-hectare vineyard 1,440 ft. above sea level. The wine is fermented in steel vat and then aged for almost 3 years in large Slavonian oak casks. It has a very complex nose, rich with ripe red fruit aromas, spicy, oaky and balsamic nuances; it is full-bodied and juicy, has chewy tannins and a lingering finish. Can be enjoyed now or aged further. Best paired with beef stew or venison, but hard cheese is a yummy option as well.
